Sinopsis

Soe Hok Gie dibesarkan di sebuah keluarga keturunan Tionghoa yang tidak begitu kaya dan berdomisili di Jakarta. Sejak remaja, Hok Gie sudah mengembangkan minat terhadap konsep-konsep idealis yang dipaparkan oleh intelek-intelek kelas dunia. Semangat pejuangnya, setiakawannya, dan hatinya yang dipenuhi kepedulian sejati akan orang lain dan tanah airnya membaur di dalam diri Hok Gie kecil dan membentuk dirinya menjadi pribadi yang tidak toleran terhadap ketidakadilan dan mengimpikan Indonesia yang didasari oleh keadilan dan kebenaran yang murni. Semangat ini sering salah dimengerti orang lain. Bahkan sahabat-sahabat Hok Gie, Tan Tjin Han dan Herman Lantang bertanya "Untuk apa semua perlawanan ini?". Pertanyaan ini dengan kalem dijawab Soe dengan penjelasan akan kesadarannya bahwa untuk memperoleh kemerdekaan sejati dan hak-hak yang dijunjung sebagaimana mestinya, ada harga yang harus dibayar, dan memberontaklah caranya. Semboyan Soe Hok Gie yang mengesankan berbunyi, "Lebih baik diasingkan daripada menyerah pada kemunafikan."

Masa remaja dan kuliah Hok Gie dijalani di bawah rezim pelopor kemerdekaan Indonesia Bung Karno, yang ditandai dengan konflik antara militer dengan PKI. Soe dan teman-temannya bersikeras bahwa mereka tidak memihak golongan manapun. Meskipun Hok Gie menghormati Sukarno sebagai founding father negara Indonesia, Hok Gie begitu membenci pemerintahan Sukarno yang diktator dan menyebabkan hak rakyat yang miskin terinjak-injak. Hok Gie tahu banyak tentang ketidakadilan sosial, penyalahgunaan kedaulatan, dan korupsi di bawah pemerintahan Sukarno, dan dengan tegas bersuara menulis kritikan-kritikan yang tajam di media. Soe juga sangat membenci bagaimana banyak mahasiswa berkedudukan senat janji-janji manisnya hanya omong kosong belaka yang mengedoki usaha mereka memperalat situasi politik untuk memperoleh keuntungan pribadi. Penentangan ini memenangkan banyak simpati bagi Hok Gie, tetapi juga memprovokasikan banyak musuh. Banyak interest groupberusaha melobi Soe untuk mendukung kampanyenya, sementara musuh-musuh Hok Gie bersemangat menggunakan setiap kesempatan untuk mengintimidasi dirinya.

Plot

Juno (Natalie Mendoza), Sarah (Shauna Macdonald) and Beth (Alex Reid) are whitewater rafting in Scotland. Sarah's husband Paul (Oliver Milburn) and their daughter Jessica (Molly Kayll) wave and cheer from the bank. On the drive back to their hotel, Paul is distracted, causing a collision. Paul and Jessica are killed, but Sarah survives.

One year later, Juno, Sarah, Beth, Sam (MyAnna Buring) and Rebecca (Saskia Mulder) are reunited at a cabin in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, USA. Holly (Nora-Jane Noone), Juno's new friend, is introduced. As they reminisce over an old photo of Juno, Sarah, and Beth, Sarah says "Love each day", explaining that it was a saying of her late husband's.

The next morning the group goes caving. When the group breaks for lunch in a huge gallery, Juno tearfully apologises to Sarah for not being there for her after the accident, but Sarah is distant. As the group moves through the next passage it collapses behind them, with Sarah barely making it through. After a heated discussion, Juno admits that she has led them into an unknown cave system, instead of the fully explored cave system they planned for. The only people who were told about their expedition think they are at the other cave system, making rescue impossible. They are trapped with no way out. Privately, Juno tells Sarah that she led them into the unknown cave hoping to restore their relationship, but Sarah rebuffs her. The group discovers a cave painting and climbing equipment from a previous visitor, suggesting a second exit exists. Juno keeps the latter secret, allowing for the group to remain hopeful.

Nanga Parbat is a 2010 motion picture mountaineering movie about two brothers Reinhold Messner and Günther Messner who climbed Nanga Parbat. Drama about the tragic Nanga Parbat expedition by the two Messner brothers in 1970, on which Reinhold Messners younger brother Günther died.

Article History

A film retelling mountaineer Reinhold Messner's legendary ascent of Nanga Parbat, in which his younger brother was killed, has reignited a bitter mountaineering row and prompted fellow climbers to attack as "false" the version of events being portrayed on the screen.

A group of climbers who accompanied Messner, now 65, and his brother Günther on the 1970 expedition have criticised the makers of Nanga Parbat for telling only one side of the story – and have threatened legal action.

The film, by the director Josef Vilsmaier, is being advertised under the slogan "two brothers, one mountain, their fate" and promises to reconstruct the events when Günther disappeared after apparently following Reinhold down Nanga Parbat in Pakistan, the ninth highest mountain in the world and one of the most treacherous to climb. From the start the film, much of which was shot on location, makes clear that it is telling the story "from the point of view of Reinhold Messner".

While Messner has always said that Günther, then 23, was buried by an avalanche, others on the trip claim that the older brother abandoned his altitude-sick sibling so that he could tackle alone the uncharted western side, the Diamir face.

The discovery of Günther's remains on the Diamir face in 2005 gave support to his brother's version of events, but did little to quell tensions between expedition members.

Sinopsis Film

Alive is a 1993 American movie based upon Piers Paul Read's 1974 book Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors, which details the story of a Uruguayan rugby team who were involved in the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which crashed into the Andes mountains on October 13, 1972.

The film was directed by Frank Marshall and n arrated byJohn Malkovich[3]. One of the survivors, Nando Parrado, (portrayed by Ethan Hawke in the film) served as the technical advisor for the film.

Seven Years in Tibet is a 1997 film based on book Seven Years in Tibet written by Austrianmountaineer Heinrich Harrer on his experiences in Tibet between 1944 and 1951 during theSecond World War, the interim period, and the Chinese People's Liberation Army's invasion of Tibet in 1950. The film was directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and starred Brad Pitt and David Thewlis. The score was composed by John Williams and features cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

In the story, Austrians Heinrich Harrer (Pitt) and Peter Aufschnaiter (Thewlis) aremountaineering in the north of India. With the beginning of World War II in 1939, they are unexpectedly imprisoned by the British due to their German citizenship. In 1944, Harrer and Aufschnaiter escape prison and cross the border into Tibet, traversing the treacherous highplateau. While in Tibet, after initially being ordered to return to India, they are welcomed at the holy city of Lhasa and become acquainted with an unfamiliar way of life. Harrer is introduced to the Dalai Lama, who is still a boy, and becomes one of his tutors. During their time together Heinrich becomes a close friend to the young spiritual leader. Harrer and Aufschnaiter stay in the country until the Chinese invasion in 1950.
